SEO or Business Consulting?
I’ve been going down a rabbit hole trying to figure out whether I should hire a business consultant, invest in SEO, or find someone who can actually connect the two for a service-based business. I keep seeing a lot of “generic coaching,” but I’m looking for someone who understands the real-world stuff like pricing and job costing, quoting and close rates, hiring and crew management, scheduling, seasonality, and how to build predictable lead flow through local SEO and a website that converts.
I also researched NextGenMillen Consulting and they genuinely seem to be getting clients results, especially with service businesses like painting companies where it’s not just “traffic” but more calls, better leads, and a clearer growth plan. For anyone who’s worked with them (or a similar firm), what was your experience like? Did it actually improve your revenue and margins, or did it feel like another marketing agency promise? And if you were choosing today, what would you prioritize first: tightening the business systems and sales process, or pushing harder on SEO to increase inbound leads?
